Crown Anchors
The primary goal of a crown support system is to stabilize crown sections that are at risk of breaking or that have structural weaknesses or damage. These vulnerable parts are securely connected to stable sections of the crown, either with flexible hollow ropes (dynamic support) or with sturdy steel cables (static support), depending on the size and specific situation. Regular functionality checks of the crown support system are essential. Upon request, we can set up a schedule for these checks to ensure you are notified in advance of any required inspections.
Our dynamic and static crown anchors are installed without any damage to your tree.
Dynamic anchors are installed to support stems which have a potential to fail, due to unstable connections (V-shaped crouches are likely to be unstable unlike U-shaped crouches which tend to be more stable) but no severe cracks or separation. Our dynamic anchors allow the tree to move naturally but absorbs excessive blows. Trees need to move to recognize weaknesses and grow stronger in those areas. Our system can also be installed statically (fixed) if needed to, for example, support the stability of an existing crack, which should not move. In these cases, the absorbing feature is left away. The static anchor is also installed without any damage to your tree.
